Our nervous system needs resetting regularly.
When we put the actions in for this to happen we move back into the Parasympathetic Nervous System. This takes us back out of flight or flight -The Sympathetic Nervous.
The PNS is where we rest, digest, recover, feel calm and importantly we feel ‘safe’. The heart rate and blood pressure can go down and the muscles relax. We think clearer and sleep better. Inflammation can decrease. IBS and pain symptoms subside.
Have you ever noticed yourself or someone else, with a tight stiff posture, while walking, driving frowning and clenched jaw? This is not the rest full state. This is the Sympathetic Nervous System switched on. This can happen with just thoughts going around the mind. Let us call them – ‘Not nice thoughts’. ‘Worrying thoughts’. ‘Catastrophizing’. ‘What if’….. ?
My role is to help you understand what is going on in your mind and body. It is actually much simpler than you could imagine. Over a short time we can start to reset your nervous system. You will feel better when you adopt the simple techniques and start practicing. Then we can start to introduce the solution focused approach with or without hypnotherapy. It is up to you.
